Fallbrook Film Festival
The Fallbrook International Film Festival is jumpstarting their season with a series of free film screenings held at the local library. The first film being shown is “Listen to Your Heart,” a 100 minute musical drama that follows a struggling songwriter and hearing-impaired woman as they fall in love against all odds. This film is a truly touching drama that the whole family is sure to enjoy.
“Listen to Your Heart” was directed by Matt Thomson and stars Kent Moran. The film also features Cybill Shepherd, winner of three Golden Globe awards. Moran, who will be present at the screening, is also the writer of this moving piece and dedicated the film to his cousin, Nicole, who passed away from cancer at age 18. The idea came to Moran in a series of dreams that took place over two weeks. Each morning, Moran would write down notes, which eventual led to this feature length film.
“Listen to Your Heart” won the Fallbrook International Film Festival’s Audience Choice Award in 2011. The screening will be held in the library’s community room Sunday, January 27, at 5PM. The event is free, but seating is limited. The 2013 film festival will kickoff the community-wide “April in Fallbrook” and will take place April 5, 6 & 7 at the new Digiplex Destinations Cinemas (formerly UltraStar Cinemas) in River Village Plaza in Bonsall, California.

After months of preparation and sleepless nights, the Fallbrook Film Festival weekend went by in a flash! Many amazing films were screened at the local UltraStar Cinemas in Bonsall. If you missed out on your chance to catch any of the movies, we will be re-screening some of the Fallbrook Film Festival favorites, including nominees, awards winners, audience choice, and staff picks at UltraStar Cinemas! For more information about the nominees and winners of the festival, and the times of the films, visit the Fallbrook Film Festival website. Many thanks to Factory member Samantha Carr and her family for getting some great interviews with the filmmakers. We hope to see those soon! The events concluded Sunday with a reception party catered by several of Fallbrook’s great restaurants.
It was an exhausting weekend for the volunteer staff. This festival would have been nothing without their dedication and hard work. I’d like to extend the deepest gratitude to the volunteer staff and to the staff of UltraStar Cinemas for all of their work.
Now, I’m going to bed.
Our 2010 Fallbrook Film Festival promo videos are up! They will be showing before every movie screening at the Bonsall Ultra-Star Cinemas, where the Festival will be held, as well as the Ultra-Star theaters in La Costa and Oceanside.
