Art director, graphic artist, web designer, producer, filmmaker
Ronald Shattuck has an extensive 40-plus year background in the creative arts as a graphic, exhibit, product designer and in state-of-the-art software developments. Most of these projects were done in support of military contracts involving advanced digital computing devices while working for Litton Data Systems and The Titian Corporation.
Specifically, he designed and directed the construction of a 6,000 sq. ft. multi-media theatre for Litton with virtual-reality-like settings; invented and was granted a patent for a dynamic graphic presentation device; created a series of dynamic product mockups that helped win Litton several multi-million dollar contracts; designed and built the Air Force Advanced Cockpit Display a simulator that demonstrated the tactical advantage of flat-panel, all digital cockpit displays; designed and built a large, meter square flat-panel simulator that demonstrated the advantage of large tactical map displays for U.S. and NATO forces. Was promoted from Art Director into Litton’s Advanced Programs Office as Manager of Advanced Concepts; Co-invented the DCT for the U.S. Marine Corps, the world’s first hand-held graphic computer with touch-screen data entry. In the course of some of these projects he produced several short industrial films and became unabashedly hooked on filmmaking.
In January 2005, shortly after his retirement, he began laying the ground work for what would become the Fallbrook Film Factory. His concept was to provide an opportunity for anyone with talent and passion for films, a chance to become involved in the filmmaking process whether as an actor, writer, or director.
